The Safety Ride Project: Apply for sponsorship

We are passionate about making sure every person is able to get to work or to childcare obligations safely. 

You deserve a commute free from harassment, biased altercations, or physical violence.  

You deserve to be on time to work. 

You deserve peace of mind.

The Safety Ride Project supports the working class of New York City and northern New Jersey. We exclusively use Revel rideshare services to distribute credits for free transportation.

The Safety Ride Project was designed specifically with non-binary people, transgender folks, women, and girls in mind. However, we recognize that there are many vulnerable people who struggle to get to work.

Any person living and working in New York City or northern New Jersey may apply for sponsorship.

All Safety Rides must be intended for transportation to and from work obligations or childcare locations.

Applications will open on March 1, 2024! To protect your private information, we use Formsite’s advanced encryption technology.

Our team assesses our applications and funding budget on a monthly basis.

On the 15th of every month, our sponsorship board will evaluate all of the applications for that month. Our appraisal process uses an intersectional, need-based lens to maximise our impact.

On the 1st of every month, funds are distributed in the form of ride credits to use on the rise share app, Revel.
